Meet the Authors
John Covach, Ph.D. University of Michigan is Professor of Music at the University of Rochester and The Eastman School of Music. An active performer and studio musician, he is the co-editor of Understanding Rock; American Rock and the Classical Music Tradition; and Institutions, Traditions, and American Popular Music. His writings on twentieth-century and popular music and the philosophy of music have appeared in numerous books and journals.
