Meet the Authors
Andrew Torget and Edward Ayers (both University of Virginia) have worked together on the Valley of the Shadow project. Andrew Torget is the project manager for the Valley Project and coeditor of Crucible of the Civil War: Virginia from Secession to Commemoration. Edward Ayers is the Dean of College and Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at UVA and the Bancroft Prize winning author of In the Presence of Mine Enemies, which Norton published in 2003.
