Meet the Authors

Ellen Strain (Ph.D. University of Southern California) teaches film history, new media theory, and interactive design at the Georgia Institute of Technology. She runs a small software firm for designing educational technology and e-learning applications in Atlanta. Her publications include Public Places, Private Journeys: Ethnography, Entertainment, and the Tourist Gaze (Rutgers UP, 2003).

Gregory Vanhoosier-Carey (Ph.D. University of Texas) is R. Z. Biedenharn Associate Professor of Communication at Centenary College of Louisiana where he chairs the communication program and teaches courses in media studies, visual communication, and interactive design.
