Meet the Editor
Hershel Parker is Professor of English at the University of Delaware. He is one of the editors of The Norton Anthology of American Literature. With Harrison Hayford he has co-edited the Norton Critical Edition of Moby-Dick and "Moby-Dick" as Doubloon. He is the editor of The Recognition of Herman Melville and Shorter Works of Hawthorne and Melville and associate general editor of the Northwestern-Newberry Edition of Melville. The first volume of his biography of Melville is forthcoming from Norton in 1996.
