eMedia & Ancillaries for Instructors
Teaching with The Norton Anthology of English Literature
Sondra Archimedes, University of California, Santa Cruz
Elizabeth Fowler, University of Virginia
Laura Runge, University of South Florida
Philip Schwyzer, University of Exeter
Reconceived for ease of use and substantially rewritten, the Guide offers extensive help from planning a course and developing a syllabus and course objectives to preparing exams. For authors and works, the Guide entries provide a "hook" to start a lively class discussion; a Quick Read section to refresh instructors on essential information about a text or author; Teaching Suggestions that call out interesting textual or contextual features; Teaching Clusters of suggested groups or pairs of texts; and Discussion Questions.
Built into the Guide is a freestanding Media Guide by Philip Schwyzer, which offers imaginative suggestions for integrating the anthology’s rich multimedia tools with the text and for incorporating them into traditional or distance-learning courses.
