Meet the Author
Internationally recognized as one of the leading economists of his generation, Joseph E. Stiglitz is the Joan Kenney Professor of Economics at Stanford University and a Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution. During his recent leave from Stanford, Professor Stiglitz served as chairman of President Clinton’s Council of Economic Advisers and then as chief economist at the World Bank. He has also served on the faculties of Yale, Princeton, and Oxford. Professor Stiglitz received his B.A. from Amherst College and his Ph.D. from MIT.
