Study Plan

Organize

  1. Review the Chapter Learning Objectives for the chapter.
  2. Print the chapter Chapter Study Outline and check items that your instructor covered in class. Then read the text closely to better understand the topic.
  3. As you work through the study materials, use the Progress Report to fill out the items that you have completed thus far. This report can also be sent to your Gradebook or to your instructor.

Learn

  1.  Take the Multiple-choice Diagnostic Quizzes. Using your diagnostic results, re-read any section of the chapter where you got less than 70% of the questions correct. You can mail the results to your instructor's Gradebook and keep track of your progress in your student Gradebook.
  2. Complete the Short answer Review Exercises. You can mail the results to your instructor's Gradebook and keep track of your progress in your student Gradebook.
  3. Download author Dalton Conley’s Audio Lectures and play on your computer or iPod anytime you want to review on the go.
  4. Master the key terms for this chapter by working through the deck of Flashcards on the studyspace. You can shuffle cards from earlier chapters if you're trying to study for a test.

Connect

  1. Watch the Sociology in Practice DVD clip(s) and answer the questions that accompany them.
  2. Complete the everydaysociologyblog.com Exercises. You can mail the results to your instructor's Gradebook and keep track of your progress in your student Gradebook.
