On September 17, 1787, the United States Constitution was signed by the Founders, setting the recently-established country on a new political course. The establishment of Constitution Day was intended to officially recognize this event, to continue the legacy, and to help develop habits of active citizenship in a new generation of Americans.

South Park is an animated television comedy series, created and written by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, which airs on Comedy Central. The show is known for its satirical portrayals of current and past political events, among other topics.

In the segments below from the episode called “I’m a Little Bit Country,” the character Cartman experiences a flashback to the colonial era and witnesses the Continental Congress debate whether or not to go to war against Great Britain.
