About The Authors
PATRICK O'NEIL, University of Puget Sound
Patrick O'Neil received his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Oregon in 1987 and his Ph.D. in Political Science from Indiana University in 1994. Professor O'Neil teaches courses in comparative politics and international relations, with an area focus on Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. He is the author of various publications, most recently the textbook Essentials of Comparative Politics (W.W. Norton, 2003).
KARL FIELDS, University of Puget Sound
Karl Fields received his B.A. ('83) from Brigham Young University and his M.A. ('84), and Ph.D. ('90) from the University of California, Berkeley. He is a specialist in the politics of Asian countries, with a focus on political economy, and currently serves as professor and Chair of the Department of Politics & Government at the University of Puget Sound.
DON SHARE, University of Puget Sound
Don Share received his B.A. degree in Political Science and Spanish Language and Literature from the University of Michigan, and his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Political Science from Stanford University. His areas of expertise are Comparative Politics and Comparative Political Economy, with an emphasis on the politics of Southern Europe and Latin America.
