Getting Started
The guides do not include the actual music, but once downloaded they fetch your personal copy of the work and integrate it with the tutorial. Your music file remains as it is; the program just borrows it so that you can listen to the piece as it is synchronized with important aspects you will want to fully understand.
The links to Amazon and iTunes downloads each require a personal account. The cost of the music tracks is not included in the price of your textbook. If you have CDs of the works listed here, the iLGs can integrate a digital copy. (MP3) The iLG software is optimized to operate with tracks purchased from iTunes. (Download iTunes Software)
Follow the iLGs links to Amazon or iTunes and purchase the tracks, saving them in your iTunes library.
Download the iLGs software to your hard drive. We recommend that you place the software in its own folder. Once the zipped file is downloaded, double-click it to expand the program file and listening guide files.
PC (right click, save file as)
MAC (right click, save file as)
Launch the iLG software: Click the Rock_iLGs program file.
Select an iLG from the menu. Note that the opening menu lists the listening selections by chapter. Select a piece from the menu. The program will either find the track automatically or prompt you to find the file on your hard drive. Select the file and the iLG will then play it.
By downloading the Rock iLG software you acknowledge that it was created solely to accompany What's That Sound, 2nd Edition by John Covach and the software is limited to use with only this title and may not be reproduced, stored in a retrieval system, or transmitted in any form by any means for any other purpose without the written permission of the publisher.
