You can find out how to calculate degrees of symmetry in two twentieth-century theory textbooks: J. Kent Williams's Theories and Analyses of Twentieth-Century Music (New York: Harcourt Brace, 1997), pp. 88-93, and John Rahn-s Basic Atonal Theory (New York: Longman, 1980), pp. 90-93. Both books list degrees of symmetry in their set-class tables, as does Joseph N. Straus, in Introduction to Post-Tonal Theory (Englewood Cliffs, N.J.: Prentice Hall, 1990).
