Q. What are the system requirements for Looking at Movies — Film Clip Library CD-ROM?
A. Windows: A pentium processor-based or compatible computer; at least 64 MB of RAM; Windows 98/Me/2000/XP; 11 MB available hard drive space (for Quicktime); a monitor capable of 800 x 600 pixel resolution; CD-ROM drive
Macintosh: A 400 MHz PowerPC G3 or faster Macintosh computer; at least 128 MB of RAM; Mac OS 8.6 or later or Mac OS X v10.1.5/v10.2.3 or later; 10 MB available hard drive space (for Quicktime); a monitor capable of 800 x 600 pixel resolution; CD-ROM drive

Q. Why didn't the Film Clip Library start up when I inserted the disc into my Windows-based computer?
A. The Windows "Autorun" feature is turned off on your system. Many system utilities will do this; some PC manufacturers turn it off by default as well. Simply open My Computer>CD-ROM and double-click the icon called "AutoRun.exe". The application will start.

Q. The application runs, but the film clips are replaced with a big, red "X".
A. You do not have Quicktime installed on your computer. If not already installed, Quicktime should be installed automatically the first time you insert the disc or run the Autorun.exe application. If you do not have Quicktime installed and the installer does not run automatically:

Windows: Go to My Computer > CD-ROM > Quicktime Installer and run “QuicktimeInstaller.exe”.  This will install Quicktime on your system.

Macintosh: Double-click the "Movies" CD-ROM icon on your desktop, open the "Quicktime Installers" folder (indicated by the large "Q" icon), open the folder that corresponds to your operating system, then run the installer.

Alternatively, users of both platforms can go to http://www.apple.com/quicktime and download the latest version of the Quicktime application for their respective systems. Mac OS X users can also run the system updater to update to the latest version.

Q. Why doesn't Quicktime automatically install?
A. See above answer
