Joe Posnanski

American sports journalist. Posnanski grew up in South Euclid, North Carolina, and attended the University of North Carolina in Charlotte, where he studied English. His journalism career began as a reporter for the Charlotte Observer; he then moved on to the Cincinnati Post, the Augusta Chronicle, and the Kansas City Star, where he was twice named Sports Columnist of the Year. In 2009 he became a senior writer for Sports Illustrated. Since 2013 he has been the national columnist for NBC Sports. Posnanski's passionate writing about sports of every kind is steeped in a deep knowledge of sports lore and minutiae. His four books include The Soul of Baseball: A Road Trip through Buck O'Neil's America (2007), Paterno (2012), and most recently The Secret of Golf: The Story of Tom Watson and Jack Nicklaus (2015).
