Natalie Standiford (b. 1961) is author of numerous books for children and young adults, including How to Say Goodbye in Robot (2010), The Boy on the Bridge (2013), and The Secret Tree (2012), which the New York Times named a Notable Children's Book of 2012. She worked as an assistant editor in the children's book division of the publisher Random House before leaving to become a full-time writer. Standiford is also a musician, playing bass with fellow authors in the band Tiger Beat. The following book review appeared in the New York Times in 2012.
