Peter Singer

Australian philosopher Peter Singer (b. 1946) is the Ira W. DeCamp professor of bioethics at Princeton University and the Laureate Professor in the Center for Applied Philosophy and Public Ethics at the University of Melbourne in Australia. The author of numerous books, among them Animal Liberation (fourth edition 2009) and The Life You Can Save: Acting Now to End World Poverty (2009), he is considered one of the founders of the modern animal rights movement.
