Adrienne Rich

Adrienne Rich (1929–2012) was among the most influential American feminists, poets, and essayists of the second half of the twentieth century. Among her best known works is her collection Diving into the Wreck: Poems 1971–1972 (1973). Her collection A Human Eye: Essays on Art in Society (2009) secured her reputation as America's preeminent feminist intellectual. "Aunt Jennifer's Tigers" (1951) was written while Rich was a student at Radcliffe College.
