William Faulkner

William Faulkner (1897–1962) was the author of twenty novels, including The Sound and the Fury (1929), As I Lay Dying (1930), and Absalom! Absalom! (1936), as well as many short stories and six books of poetry. He received the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1949 and Pulitzer Prizes in 1954 and 1962. The story "A Rose for Emily" was first published in 1931.
