This glossary defines key terms and concepts.
Please note that words set in small capital letters are
themselves defined in the glossary.
Q
questioning A process of generating ideas and
text about a topic—asking, for example, What? Who?
When? Where? How? and Why? or other questions.
quotation Someone's words used exactly as they
were spoken or written. Quotation is most effective
when the wording is worth repeating or makes
a point so well that no rewording will do it justice
or when you want to cite someone's exact words
or to quote someone whose opinions disagree with
others. Quotations need to be acknowledged, with
documentation.
