bandwagon appeal A logical fallacy that argues for a thought or an action based on the sole defense that others support it.

begging the question A logical fallacy that goes in a circle, assuming as a given what the writer is trying to prove.

block quotation In a written work, long quotations are set off indented and without quotation marks. In mla style: set off text more than four typed lines, indented ten spaces (or one inch) from the left margin; in APA style, set off quotes of forty or more words, indented five spaces (or one-half inch) from the left margin.
