The Editor

ARTHUR L. CLEMENTS teaches at the State University of New York at Binghamton. He has been granted fellowships by the SUNY Research Foundation and the National Endowment for the Humanities. His awards for poetry include a John Donne Poetry Award, a Sri Chinmoy Poetry Award, the Dylan Thomas Award, and a Poetry Center Award. He has received both the Chancellorís and the Universityís Awards for Excellence in Teaching. In addition to publishing poems, fiction, and essays in numerous journals and anthologies, he has published two critical books, The Mystical Poetry of Thomas Traherne and Poetry of Contemplation: John Donne, George Herbert, Henry Vaughan, and the Modern Period, as well as a book of poems, Common Blessings, which was awarded the American Literary Translators Association Award for translation into Italian and publication in a bilingual edition, Benedizioni Comuni.
