Welcome to The Norton Anthology Of Poetry

elcome to the student Web companion to The Norton Anthology of Poetry. The links in these pages enable a rich multimedia exploration of thirty poems included in both the Fifth Edition and the Shorter Fifth Edition of The Norton Anthology of Poetry. Each poem is brought to life within its own unique context through image, sound and text. Readings of the poems are available through downloadable audio files, and poems are linked to visual art, photographs, audio commentaries and historical materials such as maps, manuscript versions, and letters. Poems that speak about similar issues are linked in a special feature called Poems in Dialogue. The Poems in Dialogue section includes selections from Robert Pinsky's Favorite Poem Project, in which men and women from all walks of life talk about-and read-their favorite poem.
