Welcome to LitWeb

"This site is a guide for students who wish to learn how to think through their responses to a literary text, to better understand how to begin with their personal responses, to re-read creatively and analytically, and to ask questions that open the text up to different interpretations."
— from Ann Woodlief's introduction to LitWeb.

To begin Using LitWeb start with the workshops above. Find a work by selecting a genre or by searching the alphabetical list of authors. It is best to go through each work in sequence — Reading, Re-Reading, Explorations. The Author Biography and Related Links can be used as references.
