karyotype The characteristics of the chromosomes for an individual organism or a species, such as number, size, and type.

Khoratpithecus A genus of Miocene apes from Asia, likely ancestral to orangutans.

kin selection Altruistic behaviors that increase the donor's inclusive fitness, that is, the fitness of the donor's relatives.

Klinefelter's syndrome A chromosomal trisomy in which males have an extra X chromosome, resulting in an XXY condition; affected individuals typically have reduced fertility.
