Sound icon Real Audio - Concerto No. 5 - I: Allegro
Bach's Brandenburg Concertos show a number of different approaches to the concerto. The fifth is like a concerto grosso in that it features a group of instruments: flute, violin and harpsichord. This example presents the opening orchestral ritornello and the first statement of the soloists. Later in the movement, the harpsichord assumes a greater role with an extended cadenza.
