Re^2: international law

The invasion of Iraq was undertaken pursuant to and in furtherance of Chapter VII of the UN Charter and specifically Security Council Resolutions 687 and 1441.  The Italian invasion of Abyssinia was specifically condemned by the League of Nations and violated an express bilateral treaty between Italy and Abyssinia, specifically the Treaty of Addis Ababa, signed in October 1896.

The irony of the attempts to condemn the Anglo-American invasion of Iraq as a violation of international law, is that it was in fact, at least as to some participants, caused by wrongheaded adherence to international law
