line

To the basic grammar of color and form presented in the first edition of Dimensional Color, Lois Swirnoff adds a chapter on color structure and expands one on color and light. Exploring the interaction between light, color, and surfaces, the book provides an invaluable tool for the teaching and practice of color in architecture and design.

Praise for the 1st Edition

'Landmark research in relating color and form.'
—Timothy B. McDonald, Architecture

'One of Josef Albers’s star pupils, Lois Swirnoff takes color far beyond its function as an artistic tool. By exploring its unique role in the myriad environments in which everyday experience occurs, and by examining aspects of color in both the manmade and natural worlds, she not only stretches our knowledge but also enlarges our perceptions in a significant and lasting way.'
—Nicholas Fox Weber, executive director, The Josef Albers Foundation
