New Chapter on Music Fundamentals

Expanded Listening Guides
The Second Edition also helps students refine their close-listening skills with enhanced listening guides for all 90 examples on the accompanying CD set. These listening guides have several new features designed to help students hear important music moments:
- What to Listen For sections help students answer the question "What do I need to know?" by reminding them of music fundamentals and directing them to the most essential aspects of each recording.
- CD timings make it easy to pinpoint major music moments in recordings and facilitate more productive study and review.
- Translations and transliterations of foreign texts allow students to easily follow the music.
